As a research assistant for Dr Matthew Memmott and PhD Student Kent Detrick, I Measured viscosity, heat capacity, and surface tension of baseline oils, solar salts, and fluoride salts through 300+ tests. I also calibrated, maintained, and utilized a viscosity furnace, heat capacity furnace, and an argon glove box. As a research assistant for the interdisciplinary project between the physics, chemistry, and chemical engineering departments, I synthesized, and coated in silica, superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles 6-12 nm in size for diagnostic blood testing.
