  Starting out as an aircraft electrician, I worked up through the ranks to include major electrical system troubleshooting and repairs, inspecting and certifying work done by junior electricians, running a shift, running a shop, and contributing to the overall mission of flying A-6E Intruders and EA-6B Prowlers. Later on I served in Quality Assurance, monitoring squadron compliance with a multitude of safety and procedural requirements, including training personnel in tool control, HAZMAT handling and storage, training documentation, and safe maintenance procedures. Tours in Japan, Okinawa, the Philippines, the Mediterranean, Italy, and Afghanistan gave me opportunities to see many aspects of the world and to better appreciate this corner of it. Show less

  I was able to use my temp experience to earn a permanent position with the Aurora Claims Department and served for another five years, preparing and filing Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and mortgage insurance claims on defaulted properties. I also researched and paid HOA dues and property taxes on defaulted properties.

  When Aurora Bank shut down, I made the transition to Nationstar Mortgage and continued in their Claims Department, processing claims and providing documentation to mortgage insurance companies as needed.

  Still brand-new, but the stated goal is to help parolees transition from incarceration to a successful and productive post-incarceration life using the tools offered by the state, including motivational Interviewing and positive case management. Ask me again next year! I worked with Veterans in the Nebraska Panhandle who face challenges in their career searches. I found ways for Veterans to overcome these employment barriers. This included resume building, interview training, job searching, and individual counseling. This also included referrals to various agencies in the Panhandle qualified to assist with the different barriers Veterans encounter.I still know how to do all these things, so feel free to ask. I just don't do it professionally any longer.
