Aug 2012 - Aug 2017Graduate student research assistantDesigned and built a super resolution total internal reflection fluorescence microscope. Using this microscope, I was able to visualize the effect of cortical actin on the diffusion of membrane proteins, specifically Kv2.1 and Kv1.4 channels, in living mammalian cells. Used single molecule fluorescent imaging and statistical analysis to study the properties of power spectral density of quantum dots.
