The project consists of approximately 200 new apartment units (400 beds) and is constructed on the site of the former UCI Verano housing development. The overall project is approximately 108,000 square feet. The project was completed in the summer of 2012 and occupied prior to the 2012 Fall academic quarter.Marc Cohen (working first under MVEI and then later as a principal with Cadmus) acted as the LEED project manager for the project and led the team's LEED efforts by coordinating the multi-building/campus submittal process prior to the formal issuance of the Application Guide for Multi Building and Campus projects (AGMBC). Through early and continued collaboration between USGBC/GBCI staff, the project owner, and project design-build team members, facilitated by Marc Cohen, a solid sustainable design strategy was established. As a result of this active integrated design and construction process, all five projects were awarded Platinum LEED Certification levels in July 2013! Show less
