  Senior Security Analyst

  The post involved the management of all CIS's security systems which range from Firewalls, VPN's to E-Commerce infrastructures. I managed around 10 Firewall-1 modules, which mainly ran on Nokia IP 650 and 330 routers. The work included the management of configuration changes, policy changes and user accounts. The majority of CIS's firewalls worked as a resilient pair running the VRRP protocol. I was responsible for the successful implementation and application of the Society's suite of Anti-Virus products. These included Mimesweeper for SMTP, Websweeper and Websense URL filtering software. These products protected the society from internal and external virus threats and provided us with strict controls to successfully implement our internal security policies.As well as the management of security systems I also performed project management functions. A major project I was involved in was web authentication for all our online applications utilising Netegrity's Siteminder product and Siemens Dirx Ldap server technology as our user store. I was involved with the successful implementation of CIS's first online application which was to provide our customers access to their ISA Balance information. Within this E-commerce infrastructure I gained experience in Apache Web Server operating as a reverse proxy running on Sun Solaris, Intel Netstructure (SSL Accelerator) and Cisco PIX firewalls.   I initially joined Vistorm as part of their Professional Services group as a Security Consultant. The majority of this work was completed at the clients sites mainly in the UK but occasionally abroad. This ranged from small 100+ userbase customers all the way to large BlueChip companies including many financial organisations including banks, insurance institutes and stock brokers. My main skillset is based around IP Networks, Firewall and Authentication systems utilising products such as Checkpoint Firewall-1 running on Nokia, Crossbeam and Secureplatform, Juniper products including most of the Netscreen, SA and SRX product set, RSA's ACE Server using SecurID keyfobs, Cisco PIX and ASA devices and F5 BigIP load-balancer products.In my current role as a Senior Managed Services Security Consultant I am involved in the Design, Build, Implementation and the ongoing Management of a range of different security devices including Firewalls, Proxy Servers and Authentication Servers for Vistorm's Managed Service customer base.
