  • My daily responsibility was to work as part of the Esso drill team and bring in the consolidated expertise of Schlumberger drilling, PERFORM & NDS (No Drilling Surprises) services at every stage of the drilling process i.e. preplanning, execution, surveillance, analysis of the observation and implementation of the lesson learnt to assist Esso drill in the best possible way and realize their FDP target. (Fast Drill Protocol- Exxon Mobil global initiative).• Proficient in Schlumberger “Drilling Office” (involves individual modules for Well Planning, Anti Collision analysis, BHA Design, Vibration Analysis, Hydraulics and Torque & Drag modeling etc.) suite of software. • Intermediate to advanced level understanding of drilling tools (PDM Motors, RSS- Power Drive –X5 & Xceed family of tools) and directional drilling practices (drilling assembly design, stabilizer placement, drilling parameters etc.) and well site operations. Proficient in failure investigation and reporting of the same.• Expertise in Survey QA/QC and survey accuracy enhancement techniques especially multi station analysis program. (D-Mag & In field Referencing). Good understanding of different survey techniques and associated error models.• Was key member of Snapper-Moonfish drilling campaign (2008) of ERD wells through long section of coals. Drilled mostly extended reach horizontal & multilateral production wells.• Involved in successfully executing the first GeoSteering job for the client using PeriScope tool.• Led the first “Gas Hydrate” exploration job in India, under the aegis of DGH (Directorate General of Hydrocarbon- Government Regulatory agency) but coordinated by LDEO (An autonomous research institute, under University of Columbia). A highly successful project. • Worked as lead LWD/MWD field engineer in KG basin. As the area was a relatively new exploration block and was not so well characterized, drilling problems were common and varied. Was actively involved in drilling optimization-to ascertain and identify drilling problems- ramping up of pore pressure, inefficient hole cleaning etc.• Worked as lead LWD/MWD engineer in HTHP wells of NEC (In Bay of Bengal) block. Drilled interesting wells with very narrow mud window. Developed thorough understanding of PWD data (equivalent circulating density and equivalent static density) and finger printing procedures/interpretations.• Involved in Successful execution of first “Seismic while drilling” job in India, to reduce uncertainly about formation tops.• Was the “Field Focal Point” for successfully setting up the first real time operating center (RTOC) to improve liaison between field and expert support and to expedite real time decision making by client.
