      As a member of the 1st Cavalry Division’s public affairs team, I worked together with an office of creative Soldiers telling the First Team’s story. I was part of the Thomas Jefferson Award-winning broadcast team, as well as the Keith L. Ware award-winning radio team. I was entrusted with production and oversight of the 1st Cavalry Division’s award-winning television show, and produced a series of PSAs, Moment of Valor, that went on to receive acclaim from Washington. Gaining the trust of senior leadership granted me the opportunity to work directly with the Secretary of Defense and the Vice President of the United States and help their messages reach a wide audience. Deployed twice to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and once to New Orleans in support of Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. Show less

      Representing America as a journalist for AFN Tokyo, I served triple duty: production office NCO (supervisor), broadcast journalist / trainer, and television channel programmer. I was entrusted to travel internationally throughout the Pacific region, generating, filming, and producing stories to reach an audience of over 50,000 service members in Japan through television, and over 100 million people on the radio (Eagle 810). During this time, I deployed to the Sendai region of Japan in support of Operation Tomodachi, chronicling the devastation caused by Japan's 2011 earthquake and tsunami. Show less

      Serving as Chief Creative of Studio Happy Chicken, I helped bring Japanese films westward to reach American and European audiences. I spent time in the director’s chair on 8 films, and did design duties on 11, fully laying out production ready media packaging and related advertising posters. I travelled internationally to negotiate various manufacturing contracts. As the world transitioned to digital media, I designed and oversaw various Facebook and YouTube viral marketing campaigns.       Serving the Fort Hood community, I currently straddle the positions of Social Media Manager / Broadcast Operations Officer / Senior Podcast Producer. I oversee all aspects of Fort Hood social media including 3 Facebook pages, YouTube page, and the official Twitter account. I also built and oversee the Fort Hood webpage. I spearheaded the launch of the Fort Hood Instagram account and creation of Fort Hood’s Great Big Podcast. When needed I serve as a writer and photographer for the Fort Hood Sentinel. During my time here I have been the recipient of a Keith L. Ware award for excellence in storytelling, as well as the Civilian Service Achievement Medal for outstanding social media support during a visit by the Vice President of the United States. Show less During my time serving the Camp Zama community as a public affairs specialist / broadcast journalist, I was pleased to work with an exceptional team of communicators on the Rising Sun show, bringing cultural Japan to visiting service members. I created, wrote, filmed, and edited the Zama Pulse, Camp Zama’s weekly news program. Part of my duties included managing and populating the US Army Garrison Japan Facebook page as well as serving as custodian of the YouTube page. I worked together the US Army Corps of Engineers to help bring their information products to life, as well as teaming up with US Army Japan to aid when needed. When necessary, I was entrusted to serve as Command Information Chief as well as Public Affairs Officer.
