Elected as the cooling lead for RIT Racing's newest vehicle, F33, I am in charge of designing a new cooling system for the switch to a redesigned powertrain, where we will be running 4 individual electric hub motors. I am responsible for designing cooling sims in MATLAB that will accurately model the thermal capacities of our vehicle in order to size the best possible radiator and pumps for the system. I am also in charge of working with the drivetrain group to head the design of the cooling jackets for the hub motors, the aero group to work radiator sizing and mounting, as well as working with other members of the electric powertrain group to develop in house produced inverter cooling plates. The entire system will be designed in SOLIDWORKS to accurately represent and model the vehicle. Once all designs are finalized and rules legal, they will be manufactured in house and installed to the vehicle in preparation for competition in summer 2025. Show less Member of the RIT Racing Formula SAE team working within the metallics manufacturing group. Our vehicle won first place at FSAE Michigan 2024 out of over 70 international collegiate teams. Within the team I was responsible for producing a variety of high tolerance parts out of aluminum, titanium, and garolite. I learned basic fixturing techniques for pieces requiring multiple machines as well as conversational programming and CAM operation through Fusion 360 while working with 3-axis controlled ProtoTRAK mills and lathes.
