      Sept 2000 - May 2005
      Graduate Student

      • Experience in drug discovery and target validation demonstrated by determining a quinazoline derivative as an antitumoral compound and study its mechanism of action. This work led to 7 publications in Organic Chemistry and Cancer field journals.• Managed a multidisciplinary team project between the Organic Chemistry department and the Oncology laboratory to facilitate the evaluation of hundreds of newly synthesized therapeutic agents on tumoral cell lines.• Trained several undergraduate students and mentored a graduate student that continued with the project.♦ Teaching Assistant. Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department. 2000-2004 Mostrar menos

    • Center of Applied Medical Research (CIMA). University of Navarra

      May 2005 - May 2006
      Postdoctoral Fellow

      • Participated in the discovery of 13 miRNAs differentially expressed between colon tumors and normal colon cells by Real-time PCR. The relevance of this work is stated by over 900 citations the publication received till now.• Managed several undergraduate students, internships in the laboratory and trained a postdoctoral fellow to continue the project.• Communicate clearly and effectively in writing proven by securing a postdoctoral fellowship from a private foundation for two years to study the biology of Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma. Total value of $72,000. Mostrar menos

    • Silvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. University of Miami.

      Oct 2006 - Jan 2016
      Postdoctoral Associate

      • Identified the transcriptome regulated by LMO2, the strongest marker of good prognostic in DLBCL. • Revealed new interacting proteins of LMO2 through critical data analysis of the microarrays results and determined LEF1 overexpression in DLBCL.• Innovation, independence and leadership skills demonstrated by initiating a new project on a novel function of LMO2 in the B-cells. • Trained and closely supervised a graduate student working in this new project to design experiments, critically analyze and troubleshoot the results.• Established collaborations with other members of the laboratory and managed collaborations with leaders in the field that led to 7 publications.• Worked on deciphering the mechanism of action of HDAC9, an epigenetic protein that induces different types of B-cell lymphomas. Identified two new proteins from the NFkB pathway that interact with HDAC9.• Acquired strong project management and written communications skills by organizing and writing an R01 grant application for the National Cancer Institute.• Managed collaborations with experts in Lymphoma and Breast Cancer fields. Managed and trained a research associate to work in a Breast Cancer project. Learned about precision therapy in Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Mostrar menos
