Responsible for representing CIR project at various meetings and interacting with local public health officials and staff to sustain support and relevance for the adoption of CIR among health care providers, parents and guardians.

      Managed a NYS Office of Minority Health grant to establish a coalition of stakeholders " Dutchess County Minority Asthma Alliance" utilizing John McKnights asset-based community development approach create coalition driven strategies to address challenges of asthma as a health disparity. Raised awareness to spotlight environmental health concerns impacting children, caregivers especially among Latino & African American households. Implemented the Home Asthma Intervention Resources (HomeAIR) as a peer leader led pilot project. Succesfully sustained 5 year grant;notably recognized in 2004 with the NYS DOH Office of Minority Health Vision Award. Show less

      As the Vice President of Community Initiatives, a division of Community Engagement/Business Development at Sun River Health, my mission is to ensure our various grant funded programs have the resources needed to achieve key performance goals focused on prevention and wellness, health promotion and linkages to primary health care. In this role I provide instrumental leadership to address health access, treatment of chronic health conditions/health disparities that impact communities of color and vulnerable populations. I have the privilege to work closely with a diverse array of stakeholder groups and build community partnerships throughout our Health System. This encompasses oversight of Consumer Advisory Committees; facilitating Eastern Dutchess Rural Health Network; ensuring resources to maintain our volunteer Health Promoters, development of Community Health Workers initiatives and Patient Experience Focus Groups.
