I work under contract as an HVAC/R Tech. in the Military Repair and Overhaul Center (MROC) for the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) div. of the Missile Defense Agency providing operations, maint. & repair for Ballistic Missile Defense system equip.Equip. incl. chillers, heat rec. econ., free standing ECUs, pneumatic & elec. controls fully automated and controlled remotely. I troubleshoot and locate malfunctions, diag. problems, and determine repairs. Adjust, repair, or replace tstats, pressure stats, relays, sensors, switches, transformers, electrodes, solenoids, rheostats, and aqua stats. R/R compressors, motors, fans, belts & pulleys. P.M. & repair evaporators, condensers, & receivers. Repack valves, lubricate moving parts, replace filters, and clean coils. Work from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal & written instr. Respond to after hours call-outs as needed.As Boiler Tender, I perform duties tending boilers to produce steam or high-temperature water. Maintain a log in which various aspects of boiler operation are recorded; clean, oil, make minor repairs to boiler room equipment; and follow prescribed methods to for boiler water treatment and analyze boiler water for acidity, causticity, & alkalinity.
