  Responsible for establishing and developing Oxford University Library Services policy, strategy and targets for user education, identifying priorities and delivering improvements. Organising and often delivering training for subject librarians, developing an inclusive approach to involve them in user education program development. Creating and managing web-pages to promote user education and also make resources and contacts available to University staff and students. Organising and helping to deliver WISER (Workshops in Information Skills and Electronic Resources) program. Research support was particularly important given the research-intensive focus of the Department where all the students were postgraduate, half doing a PGCE and the other half doing Masters or PhD. I led a small team and was responsible for all aspects of services including enquiry and information skills support, acquisition, circulation, cataloguing and inter-library loans. Show less

  Many students starting university need support with academic skills such as research and referencing. Working with library colleagues, teaching and academic literacy staff I have developed a program embedded across first year core units at WS which uses a range of online resources, tutorial activities, small group workshops and interactive lectures to help students develop their skills. The Outreach Program was recognised for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning at the end of 2015 by Western Sydney University. Show less
