  I discovered and investigated a full-process material instability problem, using engineering processes and the scientific method to provide substantial evidence of my findings. I also designed and implemented an automated switch-tester, designed and prototyped a fiber-optic light guide display project, prototyped an e-paper display system for Sleep Number . In addition to this, I developed new uses for old equipment, such as using a machine vision system to recognize text in addition to the other details it usually inspected.   I redeveloped and implemented an automated conveyor system that streamlined production to increase manufacturing speed up to 27% per order on that line. I also developed a sensor system to measure press shut-height within 0.001 inches over a 24 inch span in a high vibration/shock/temperature-variable industrial environment. Additionally, I reworked a scrap management system, and as researched a forklift visibility system to protect operators. I also tackled new industrial challenges as they appeared day-to-day.   I designed, tested, analyzed, and redesigned power and control circuits for high-power variable speed drive systems under UL specification and restricted internal tolerances. I also developed a simulation for dV/dt transient behavior between a remote drive and motor, with up to 150m of cabling between. The model could be modified to predict transients between a wide variety of cable, drive, and motor specifications. Additionally, I provided support on patent research and filing, discovered and provided solution for noise vulnerability in final stage of product development, and automated data-handling documentation.
