  Joined Deloitte and Touche in January 2017 until December 2019 in pursuance of the completion of a three-year South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) training contract. Rating of “Significantly Exceeds Expectations” across audit clients (the highest tier in the Deloitte performance rating system). Fulfilled the role of “Auditor in Charge” on all audits to date. The role includes team leadership and guidance, leading client meetings and assuming ultimate responsibility for the progress and completion of the audit. Significant exposure to extraordinary tasks through the role in the audit of the largest non-food retailer in Southern Africa including dealing with a business restructure and the relevant accounting implications and audit thereof, the sale of underlying subsidiaries as well as the organisation and co-ordination of audit procedures across African member firms. Experience was gained in auditing, teamwork, managing a large team, corporate finance transactions, company valuations, extensive computer skills as well as working under pressure.   I am currently a senior lecturer in the School of Accountancy at the University of the Witwatersrand for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies with a focus on Auditing IV. There is an extensive emphasis on research with my area of focus being integrated reporting, ESG reporting and integrated thinking. I have published research papers in both international and local journals and have presented work at both international and local conferences. I have also prepared practitioner-focused reports for SAICA. I also perform peer-reviews for journals and have contributed to various SAICA projects. I am also the Co-Executive Operations Manager of the Centre for Critical Accounting and Auditing Research (CCAAR) based in the University of the Witwatersrand and have organised and hosted a conference for international and local participants presenting upcoming research in the fields of technology & innovation, financial accounting, assurance & crisis management and extinction accounting & sustainability.
