  Appointed to the Kentucky Board of Education by Governor Steven L. Beshear in 2010. Served as the board’s Vice-Chair and on both the management committee and the curriculum and instruction committee. Provided leadership during the implementation of the Kentucky Core Academic Standards, the Next Generation Science Standards, and the implementation of a new statewide accountability system legislated in Senate Bill 1.
