      After spending university holidays on the mean streets of Hull conducting market research interviews, I was determined to take up a career in market research. My natural curiosity led me to Research International where I took up an exec role in the Marketing Science Centre, where I was trained in the dark arts of multivariate analysis – mainly conjoint.

      I joined Adelphi keen to expand my horizons both methodologically and geographically! I quickly progressed into a client management role, also taking on responsibility for qualitative fieldwork with healthcare professionals (while maintaining responsibility for Adelphi’s advanced analysis).

      Consumer Insight Manager

      I joined Coors with responsibility for insight on the ales brands Worthington’s and Caffrey’s, cutting my teeth on pack redesigns for both. Before long I took over the role of Consumer Insight Manager for Carling, managing a large budget for ad-hoc and continuous research. Alongside the regular advertising, packaging and promotions development and tracking, I established a rigorous programme of sponsorship evaluation to understand the way in which Carling’s football and music sponsorship programmes were influencing brand perceptions and behaviour.       I am honoured to have been selected to chair the board of The Leprosy Mission Shop, a company which exists to raise vital funds for The Leprosy Mission. I have been a supporter of The Leprosy Mission for over 20 years and have seen the transformational change that the charity brings to people who are affected by leprosy. Along with the exec team and the rest of the board, I am passionate about doing everything we can to support the charity in its mission, as we work to see leprosy defeated and lives transformed. Show less I joined the board of The Leprosy Mission's trading company in 2005 as a way of helping to serve the needs of leprosy-affected people. Through working alongside the other directors and the executive team, I have also learned a great deal. The company sells a wide range of products, raising vital funds for the work of the charity. The organisation has changed dramatically over that time, as it has responded to new trends in society, and I'm pleased to have been able to play a part in guiding the company's development.       During my time at JRA, I stretched myself significantly – in particular developing a real hands-on expertise in qual-quant projects. I built on my experience as a client-side researcher and communicator as I gained increasing expertise in qualitative moderation and interpretation. I also broadened my sector experience, gaining particular interest in the education and not-for-profit sectors, alongside my FMCG history.
