      Datapulse was very successful selling applications to make the Nortel Meridian PBX's more feature rich. Applications included call centre, workforce management, directory integration products, administration tools, call recording, call loggers and operator consoles. The company initially sold exclusively via BT. I was promoted through the ranks from Account Manager to Team Leader to Sales Manager to Sales Director. I set up new channels such as Kingston and also created a direct sales force. In the end I had a team of around 20 and responsibility for $30m annual revenue. I also negotiated a number of new products and suppliers. Highlight was probably securing a multi year contract with NHS Direct to provide workforce management software. This was the first time the supplier had delivered in the UK and the contract was worth over $10m. Show less

      IDL was only a year or two old when I arrived. Cisco IP telephony was just starting to take off in the UK. IDL was created to provide the applications that Cisco was sorely missing - call centre, operator consoles and desktop clients principally. Whilst I was only there a short time we managed to secure some large (500 seat plus) clients and also set up a channel network.
