  I oversee the Specialist Accreditation Scheme, an initiative launched by the Singapore Academy of Law at the Opening of Legal Year 2017. The Scheme seeks to recognise legal practitioners who have shown to possess the requisite practice experience, skills and knowledge in a particular area of law. Once accredited as an Accredited Specialist or Senior Accredited Specialist in a practice area, such specialists must maintain their accreditation by fulfilling practice and continuing professional development criteria. They are required to be reaccredited every two years.The main objective of my role is to ensure the smooth running of the scheme which includes working closely with the Specialist Accreditation Board to identify new areas of specialisation for inclusion in the scheme and subcommittees headed by a member of the Supreme Court judiciary to establish accreditation frameworks for various specialisations; managing the accreditation process - from organising and hosting information sessions, to reviewing applications and arranging interviews before selection panels, and drafting and updating all accreditation information guides and manuals.
