Show less "Higher Education Partnership - Morocco" (HEP-M), USAID-funded Activity (2019-2024) $5.9MThe Middle East and North Africa Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Services (MENA MELS) Activity delivers high-quality technical support for monitoring, evaluation, and learning to the Middle East Bureau, its ten field missions, operating units, and implementing partners. Project services include monitoring systems, evaluations, assessments and research; analysis and synthesis; learning and utilization; and MEL capacity building and training.Under MENA MELS, the MSI team conducts an evaluation of the HEP-M project launched in 2019 to improve national pre-service teacher training. HEP-M seeks to align the system of primary school teacher preparation and recent Moroccan legislation in partnership with the Ministry of Education, higher education institutions, and associated teacher training institutions. The overarching goal of HEP-M is to “create a sustainable Moroccan Higher Education pool of experts, reaching more than 20,000 teachers” through assisting MOE in the implementation of the newly adopted legislations “The National Framework Law (NFL)”. This evaluation examines the outcomes of HEP-M, the sustainability of its approach to create a pool of experts in pre-service teachers' training, and its ability to support the MOE respond to the new requirements of the NFL.
