  From early 2015 to late 2020, I was the primary contact for West Bay Exploration (Traverse City, MI, USA) with local government (OMNRF), industry (OPI), and trade companies that operate in the Ontario oil and gas industry. I was their Ontario geologist and part of the exploration team that discovered the new oi and l pool (Raleigh 3-16-XIV). In addition, I was responsible for communication with service companies that provided support on all of their exploration projects. I was responsible for identifying and evaluating potential oil and gas resources in southwestern Ontario within the Michigan and Appalachian Basins. I focused on the evaluation of the deep oil play potential within the Cambrian and Trenton-Black River, along the southern portion of the Algonquin Arch. We made significant advances with the geology and geological understanding of the Cambrian oil play and successfully drilled a Cambrian oil well. Show less

  Great Lakes Potash (formerly Michigan Potash) was a junior exploration and development company focused on creating a resource for potash in the State of Michigan. GLP was a private company founded by myself and a small group of investors in 2011. GLP's Board members and shareholders had expertise in Geology, Engineering and Corporate Finance. We raised private equity to start up a junior mining company to evaluate the potash resource potential of the Michigan Basin, a spin out of the potash mineral project developed for Kaminak Gold Corp. GLP and its subsidiaries in Michigan identified a significant resource potential for potash in the central part of the State. Market conditions made it difficult to continue the early stage exploration project and the project was discontinued in 2014. Show less

  I led in the acquisition of research materials used to guide policy and program development. I engaged with branch management on developing policy options and recommendations through the development of jurisdictional scans and summaries. The information and summary documents that I prepared were required by senior policy advisors to make informed decisions prior to proposing amendments to existing legislation. I reached out to several Provincial Governments and their regulators engaged them in the discovery and understanding of their policies, programs, regulations and legislation to guide our future policy and program design. I understand the importance of establishing partnerships within other program areas of this Ministry, with other ministries, and key stakeholders to ensure consistency and linkages between policy and program development initiatives.
