      Crew Foreman: Worked as assistant manager of a Division of Forestry tree nursery north of Las Vegas Nevada growing plants used for soil and water conservation as well as riparian restoration. In summer of 1984 moved to Carson City and was a crew boss of a fire crew that did fire suppression as well as conservation work in the offseason. Worked with 12 man inmate crews.

      Faculty Research Assistant in the Forest Engineering Department. Assisted graduate students in setting up and implementing research projects for their Masters and Ph.D. work. Worked directly on grant writing and assisting Professors in producing peer-reviewed journal articles and other reports. Areas of research included wildland stream hydraulics, stream habitat function, riparian function and groundwater/stream interactions.

      Lead Surface Hydrologist for the Oregon Water Resources Department. Created the first water availability model and calculations to determine water availability throughout the state. Participated in working on statewide programs such as the Oregon Plan for Salmon and Watersheds and created memorandums of agreement for agency interaction on the Clean Water Act as well as Fish Passage provisions and interactions regarding Forest Practices. Also managed a changeover to a fee-based system including working on feasibility, structure, and implementation of the fees.       Overall I have been at the Flood Authority since May 2019. First as the Deputy (From May thru November) and then Executive Director. The Authority is tasked with overseeing the design and construction and maintenance for flood infrastructure including levees, flood walls, and channel re-contouring to prevent flood damage from the Truckee River in the Reno/Sparks area of Nevada. The Authority also assists in flood warning and tracking as well as water management related to storage and flood control. The Authority is a separate Joint Powers Agency governed by a Board with representatives from Reno, Sparks and Washoe County. Show less
