      Ph.D. research work focused on Laser optics, fiber laser and Ultra-fast optics. Did graduate research work at the Laboratory for Laser Energetics, University of Rochester from January, 2008 to 2013. Developed a novel Chirped Pulse Amplification (CPA) seed source in an all-fiber architecture, to replace the conventional chirped pulse source which combines a mode-locked oscillator and a grating pulse stretcher. Successfully integrated the seed source into a high energy OPCPA system to demonstrate pulse amplification and compression to close to Fourier transform limit (pico-second duration).Acquired through graduate research:1. Hands on lab work experience, including both bench top and fiber optical system setup. 2. Proficiency with optical and electrical instruments such as OSA, spectrometer, CCD camera, oscilloscope, arbitrary waveform generator, RF amplifier, ect. 3. Capability in data acquisition and analysis using Labview and Matlab.4. Experience in using optical devices such as EOM and AOM and respective drivers. 5. Experience in numerical modeling of physical systems using Matlab, Fortran, ect. 5. Proficiency in scientific writing and presentation. Show less
