For both the academic and summer year of the Upward Bound program, Andrea created and oversaw publishing posts and information onto social media, emails, and websites. The purpose was to make sure students and parents of the New Brunswick, Plainfield, and Perth Amboy districts can view updates and changes of the program.   Orientation Leader

  For the month of June 2023, Andrea served as an Orientation Leader for the incoming Freshman class of Seton Hall University. As an Orientation Leader, she helped the high school to college adjustment for both students and parents. She also served as a mentor for the students when registering for classes, meeting their fellow peers, and getting to know campus life. Here she incorporated team building skills to build friendly relationships between the students and promote interaction. For the month of August 2023, Andrea reintroduced her students to the campus life and student life before the start of the Fall 2023 semester. Here she guided them to their future classes and professors. All while working with the students, Andrea worked closely with the Office of Student Engagement to help direct and set up activities for each event date. Show less

  In formal partnership with the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, Seton Hall University has officially attained recognition as a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI). Andrea, alongside co-chair Dr. Lori Tarke and Ghana Hylton, has been appointed by a Dean/VP to contribute to the establishment of a nurturing environment for Hispanic students on campus by participating in the HSI Working Group. This group is tasked with conducting research, devising strategies, and offering recommendations to university leadership regarding the requisite measures to pave the way for attaining HSI designation.   Beginning of 2024, Seton Hall University will officially have a Prospanica National Chapter in the state of New Jersey under her start. Andrea works on delivering services and exposure for chapter members to thrive on and use on being their best self, professionally.
