The perfect organism to look at this set of problematic, at least the one I chose, is crayfish. These tiny guys (some can be almost as big as some humans though, look it up --> Astacopsis gouldi!!) never stop amazed me: ecological engineers, key stone species, bioturbators, central part of the freshwater streams food chain, great laboratory organisms, and some of them live in caves and have regressed sight and enhanced chemical detection!
