This activity includes DFM & profitability study, Risk analysis & mitigation plan, Mould flow analysis, Capex estimation, Trial & qualification.Qualified tighter than precision class tolerance parts within 6 months, by ensuring error-free metrology report, applying lessons learned & replaceable insert options.Enforced the change of Tolerance limit in 2D drawing for the risk of warpage parts through analysis of Mould flow report.Anticipated the risk of thin steel & implemented mitigation plan in mould design, like special steel, Special heat treatment to ensure mass production.To reduce the Capex approached smart mould concepts, Multi-part in a single mould, Common MB, Common Core, this gives 10 % saving on Capex, & reduced qualification time.Reduced part cost by 30% by increasing productive through increasing cavity (from 16 to 32, 32 to 64) for same existing Tonnage M/c.Reduced part cost by 15% on replacement mold by increase cooling efficiency through high heat remove rate.Increased the Mould life from 1 M to 2 M shots on replacements molds through multiple techniques like Coating the surface of core & cavity, implementing quick replacement insert from P/S, and selecting different steel.
