  • Founding staff of a new KIPP charter school in Houston, TX .> Led and collaborated in school-wide decisions including implementation of curriculum programs, purchasing of resources, and teacher selection.> Developed school curriculum and long term pacing guides for 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 school years which were implemented in all kindergarten and first grade classrooms. This led to a 95% phonics mastery rate and 88% of students surpassing their reading level goal.> Designed report card and assessment tracking system in order for staff to analyze and use data to improve instruction. Created the first grade common assessments and assessment cycles which assured reliability and validity while testing.• Served as Grade Level Chair for First Grade and conducted professional development sessions for grade level team. Sessions focused on best teaching practices, curriculum programs, assessments and data analysis.• Worked as Testing Coordinator for 2010-2011 school year and oversaw the implementation of the MAP computer testing program.• Mentored and supervised Teaching Fellow who co-taught in classroom and was seeking teaching certification for 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 school years. Taught mentees lesson planning practices, instructional techniques, and conducted weekly meetings to discuss progress.
