  Supervisor responsible for the community Medicaid Undercare Unit. Unit handles community recertification and maintenance for active Medicaid recipients. Previously the SC Liaison between HBE and NYS DOH, in charge of Medicaid Policies and Procedures and Training and Development. I supervised the Chronic Care Maintenance Unit of the Medicaid Division of the Department of Social Services. We handle all open cases (approximately 6000) for Suffolk County residents who are currently in Nursing Homes, ALPs, ICFs, etc. Deal with Special Needs and Exception trusts,Guardianships, promissory notes, transfer penalties, life estates, elder law, Long term home health care, NYSARC Trusts. Write fair hearings to defend Agencies decisions before an Administrative Law Judge.. Deal with staff at Nursing Homes, Elder Law Attorneys, and advocates. Handle vacation requests, time sheets, NYS Mass Re-budgeting projects, clerical staff, training new workers and new procedures, statistical reporting, prioritizing work on a daily basis, payroll, vacation scheduling, and performance appraisals. Supervise SSEIIs, SSEIs, and a clerical staff. Before Chronic Care Undercare and Maintenance I was a Supervisor in the Western Suffolk Medicaid office responsible for over 72,000 community Medicaid cases.
