During this master, I have intensively studied the core emotional drivers, cognitive processes and psychological principles that underlie (online) human behaviour. Moreover, I applied behavioural design tactics from psychology and neuroscience to create better conversion experiences (applied neuromarketing) and devise policy instruments for governments to stimulate behavioural change (e.g. nudging). Hence, this degree made me familiar and adept with insights in the core concepts, statistical methods, theoretical frameworks, methodologies and real-life applications of psychology, neuroscience, marketing and economics.       In my current role as SEA specialist, I am responsible for planning, executing and managing a variety of PPC marketing campaigns (From Search to Youtube) across different search engines (primarily Google and Bing). In close consultation with clients, I develop and optimize their full funnel paid advertising strategy to maximize the ROI and achieve sustainable business growth. During this process, I proactively communicate with clients, share my recommendations with them and take appropriate action whenever necessary. My client portfolio consists of B2B and B2C Lead-Gen, Ecommerce and SAAS companies which are active in a variety of business verticals (from retail to the public sector). Among others, my day-to-day activities include the following:▪️ Conducting keyword and market research.▪️ Setting up accurate/reliable conversion tracking to ensure high-quality data.▪️ Creating and refining ads with high-level creatives and compelling ad copy.▪️ Monitoring advertising budgets.▪️ Improving product feeds (e-commerce).▪️ Analysing campaign performance data (in-depth) and optimizing accordingly.▪️ Continuous A/B testing and experimenting with ad-copy, visuals, assets, keywords, automation, targeting, campaign/ad group structures and (smart) bidding strategies. ▪️ Planning and organizing relevant and detailed reporting meetings with all stakeholders involved.▪️ Strategic and data-driven decision making in close collaboration with clients.Next to my responsibilities as SEA specialist, I also act as a Technical Web Analyst/Tagging Specialist by providing extensive GA4 implementations, data analysis, and GTM configurations for clients. Show less As Online Marketing Trainee, I mainly focused on the ins and outs of Search Engine Advertising (SEA), Web Development and Technical Web Analytics (GA4 and GTM):▪️ SEA: I learnt how to devise, manage and optimize PPC advertising campaigns (Search, Display, Shopping, YouTube and PMAX) for multiple clients in different industries (B2B and B2C Lead-Gen, Ecommerce and SAAS). In addition, I was part of the project group 'Enhanced Ecommerce’ that introduced and rolled out the feed optimization software (Channable) and labelizer strategy (Product Hero) in pre-existing shopping campaigns. ▪️ Web Development: I acquired basic HTML, CSS and JavaScript (coding) skills to accurately conduct A/B tests on websites. Next to that, I became accustomed to working with several content management systems (CMS) like WordPress, Magento, Lightspeed, Shopify etc.▪️ Technical Web Analytics: I developed myself into an ‘Analytics and Tracking Expert’ with Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager (GTM). As a result, I was responsible for data analysis (GA4) and advanced tracking implementations (GTM), including technical tracking setups like server-side tagging, enhanced conversions, offline conversion tracking and consent mode V2. Show less I closely collaborated with the lead web developer (Nick Knoops) to provide conversion rate optimization as a valuable new service for Alona Marketing. We focused on developing an experimentation culture that supports running continuous research and testing efforts to decrease innovation risk and improve business and customer goals. With industry frameworks and tools, we implemented a structured approach to CRO with adequate quantitative and qualitative research, prioritization, execution of A/B/n tests, extensive data analysis and continuous documentation of the acquired learnings.Among the various experiments conducted, one randomized controlled trial served as the subject of my master thesis. I investigated the (causal) effect of Cialdini’s persuasive principles social proof and authority on the digital customer journey at a woodworking retailer. This master thesis passed with a grade of 8.2 and marked my Cum Laude graduation of the MSc Human Decision Science (Behavioral Economics). Show less
