Summer School Molecular Medicine Scholarship Holder

Participating in the summer school organized by the Universitaetsklinikum Jena was the best experience I've had so far because it provided me with diverse exposure. During summer school, I received the IZKF scholarship for being the top student, which enabled me to pursue my PhD studies.

      Master's degree Biochemistry 8.46

During my post-graduate studies, I wrote a dissertation on the topic "Proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type-9," which helped me understand lipid metabolism and the research being done on this topic in depth. The topic of the master's thesis was "Protective Effects of Unconjugated Bilirubin and its Derivative Against Toxin-Induced Inflammation." I learned a lot about snake venom, its effects, and various treatments while working on this project. I learned a lot about snake venom, its effects, and various treatments while working on this project. The goal was to identify the signaling system via which the venom acts to cause local tissue damage like hemorrhage and cytotoxicity like inflammation. LPS (lipopolysaccharide) generated macrophage lysates, which were then treated with inhibitors such as unconjugated bilirubin and bilirubin derivative 1. Western blotting was used to acquire results, and the blots were thoroughly examined. Show less

      Bachelor's degree Genetics 8.925

During my graduation, I completed a project titled "Study of Dermatoglyphic Patterns of Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis," which included the collecting of data as well as dermatoglyphic patterns, data analysis, and the application of statistical methods to reach the conclusion. Throughout this course, I've also learned about the genetics of dermatoglyphic patterns and the relevance of the ATD angle.I took on another study, "Assessment of the microbiological quality and safety of some… Show more During my graduation, I completed a project titled "Study of Dermatoglyphic Patterns of Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis," which included the collecting of data as well as dermatoglyphic patterns, data analysis, and the application of statistical methods to reach the conclusion. Throughout this course, I've also learned about the genetics of dermatoglyphic patterns and the relevance of the ATD angle.I took on another study, "Assessment of the microbiological quality and safety of some retail spices sold in Bangalore, Karnataka," out of personal interest. As the assignment involves the isolation, culture, characterization, and storage of microorganisms, I learned more about microbiology during this course. Serial dilution, agar slant preparation, streaking (to isolate pure colonies), and staining procedures such as gram staining, endospore staining, and fungal staining are among the techniques covered. Doctor of Philosophy - PhD Molecular Medicine With Distinction

Activities and Societies: Mentoring bachelor and master students. During my PhD, I had the opportunity to work on an interesting project titled 'Aspects of gene regulation after glycan challenge in human THP-1 cells'. This research work helped me to gain a deeper understanding of various aspects related to cell culture and quantitative real-time PCR. I had the privilege of gaining hands-on experience in RNA isolation, primer designing, and cDNA synthesis. As a self-motivated and creative individual, I was able to successfully manage a substantial… Show more During my PhD, I had the opportunity to work on an interesting project titled 'Aspects of gene regulation after glycan challenge in human THP-1 cells'. I had the privilege of gaining hands-on experience in RNA isolation, primer designing, and cDNA synthesis. As a self-motivated and creative individual, I was able to successfully manage a substantial portion of the project, which in turn, helped me to showcase my strong independent research skills. I also had the opportunity to present my scientific findings in various presentations. Overall, this project helped me to gain valuable knowledge and experience that I can apply in my future endeavors. Show less

      Research Scholar

As a Research Scholar at Universitätsklinikum Jena, I investigated gene regulation in human THP-1 cells in response to glycan challenge. I enhanced my knowledge of cell culture techniques and quantitative real-time PCR while gaining hands-on experience in RNA isolation, primer designing, and cDNA synthesis. I successfully managed a substantial portion of the project, demonstrating my creative and self-motivated approach to research.
