      I was invited to attend a research project for two weeks, as a research assistant.This formed part of on going research in the South West Kalahari. Investigation took place into the microbiology of the Kalahari sands and further personal research investigated the island of fertility effect. Various research methods were involved including data collection for; carbon, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, soil moisture, sunlight, temperatures and rainfall.Various laboratory techniques were also applied including the extraction of carbon and nitrogen from soils.This data was collaborated with the past eleven years of research. I was a contributor to a published scientific paper and was able to produce an independent research project from the work carried out as well. Show less
