  Responsible for managing New Zealand Red Cross community programmes in Taranaki, Wanganui and Manawatu. Maintaining and establishing positive relationships with external stakeholders, Area Councillors, Branches and volunteers. Improving existing programmes, implementing new programmes and organising fundraising events. Recruited staff and volunteers as well as support for 350+ volunteers. Winter Care Pack Project is one of the community projects I introduced and implemented in Taranaki to keep locals warmer during winter. To ensure the packs are meet the needs of the most vulnerable individuals and households recipients were identified by Community Support Services, community well-being navigators or connectors, other community partner agencies. Over three winters 464 personalised packs were distributed across Taranaki region (approx 1,600 individuals). Feedback from Winter Care Pack recipient "Oh my goodness I felt as though my life matters to someone. I felt uplifted, encouraged and cared for. The parcel warmed my heart and proceeded to warm me from the inside out. I live alone, and I am wheelchair bound. One can become very isolated and lonely, as getting out and about is difficult and costly. Thank you for being the sunshine on a cloudy day. Weeks and weeks later the sun is still shinning in my heart. Thanks again for the kindness and the generosity. May God bless you as you blessed me" (August, 2017).Established a Community Relief Team which is a team of locally sourced and trained Red Cross Disaster Relief volunteers. They take part in early disaster relief activities, community preparedness programmes and promote resilence in their local community. This involved sourcing funds, recruiting, security checks, purchasing an equipped welfare trailer, uniforms, training. Created a successful, fun, family-friendly, annual fundraising event which only got larger every year. The Taranaki 'Duck Race and BBQ Fundraiser'. Show less
