The Mopar 5300 D2D Connector development project utilized dealer’s inactive and obsolete inventory to satisfy dealer referral orders. This system improved dealer parts management practices by enhancing part availability, reducing excess and inactive inventory, and improving the effectiveness of the parts pipeline. Ultimately, D2D Connector was estimated to save Mopar millions of dollars. In the first month D2D Connector was implemented, over half a million dollars in parts were sold. This project required modification to GPOP (Global Part Ordering System) and development of over 40 online, batch, stored procedures, and includes, as well as documentation updates/creation. The implementation of an Off Shore programming arrangement to a third party vendor transitioned the duties of this project to the analytical development of program changes.• Participated in GPOP meetings to identify the business requirements and analysis for the D2D project and its interface to the Dealer-Connect project.• Completed the requirement analysis, design, coding and testing of a time expiry mechanism across four time zones and 5300 dealers. The process will give the supplying dealer specific time duration to respond before the system allocates another supplier. When the dealer is closed or near closing, this process will accumulate the orders until next business day. The system will prevent the dealership from supplying the part to any other dealer/vendor once this dealer decline the system request to supply the part.• Performed analysis, design, coding and testing of an interface to the Dealer-Connect project. The interface consists of a Scheduler and an expansion of the explode process in GPOP.• Constructed D2D development tool to identify the status of a specific part relative to the D2D process. • Analyzed, coded, tested various Service Requests and production problems to existing COBOL batch and CICS onlinrams, using Xpediter, File-Aid, and Pro*Edit.
