  A busy cafe in Newcastle serving cooked food and beverages. I supervised on shift and delegated the workload appropriately. As it was an incredibly busy service, I am skilled at remaining calm under pressure and multitasking whilst also being able to prioritise which tasks to complete first. As the building was a converted MOT centre and we had no heating we would experience extreme conditions and often equipment would break or shut down. I am well versed in remaining calm, finding the best solution and being adaptable to the conditions.   A temporary role as a Front of House Host for the opening of the new Factory International building. As this was a completely new operation I had to rely on my initiative and strong customer service skills to ensure visitors to the centre felt as knowledgeable and comfortable as possible. This was a varied role in an events space which can accommodate live events and large-scale bodies of art. This job allowed me to gain experience of various aspects of event work such as ticketing, crowd management and working in a large team. It also provided me with an insight into the management and running of complex events and the importance of adaptability in order to perform different daily roles. Show less

  Florist/ Customer Service Assistant

  Worked as a Customer Service Assistant and Florist at Frog Flowers in Selfridges, Trafford Centre. This was a new and exciting customer service role for me, enabling me to gain new abilities and confidence in my skills. I used my creative mindset and floristry techniques to make up fresh bouquets and wraps every morning to put out for sale. We also sold bespoke bouquets upon customer request, meaning I had to listen intently to the details of the request, think on my feet and be confident in my abilities in order to create a product that would please the customer. This was often completed whilst under pressure as the customer would often watch. As we were a team of only four I worked the majority of my shifts alone, relying on my initiative and decision making skills to answer customer queries and maintain excellent customer service whilst being new to the pricing of items in the store. I had to learn quickly how to work out the pricing for each item in the shop and make myself knowledgeable about all the plant care of the products we sold. Show less
