  • Acted for high-net-worth individuals, financial institutions, corporates, asset management companies and pension funds on a broad range of direct and indirect tax disputes matters. Worked on matters appearing in the First Tier Tribunal up to the Court of Appeal.• Drafted letters of advice, instructions to counsel, grounds of appeal, notes of conference and court directions. • Worked on KPMG Law’s largest case that involved a VAT grouping dispute between a big bank and HMRC for a sum exceeding £250 million. Leading a team of 3 juniors to undertake a range of tasks from collating and creating court bundles containing thousands of exhibits to being in charge of liaising with counsel and the client. • Presented to the team of 50 solicitors and barristers on a weekly basis on a range of cases and legislative changes that are important for them to be aware of. • Created specific training plans which I implemented in bi-yearly day long training sessions to ensure that the team are as upskilled as possible. • Appointed onto KPMG’s London Region Shadow Board where I met monthly with senior management and heads of office about issues effecting both the legal and wider business community. • Built a strong connection within senior leadership at KPMG and promoted and won work for my team.
