Role stressed the use of pedagogical techniques and aquaria construction.

  Biogeochemical Oceanography Researcher

  The Valentine Lab is a cutting edge marine biogeochemistry lab that studies the unique interactions between microbial communities and their environment. Over the course of 3 years I contributed to multiple NSF funded oceanographic projects that involved both lab work and field work investigating the metabolisms and metagenomics of microbial communities.

  The Cultured Abalone Farm

  The Cultured Abalone provides hand-raised farm-to-table red abalone for the local community and beyond. The farm is committed to the highest standards of environmental stewardship and is an active contributor to the conservation of the endangered white and green abalone. As a technician, I engaged with all aspects of the business from animal husbandry to product packaging and sales.

  Symbrosia

  Asparagopsis taxiformis represents a step towards the future of an environmentally responsible cattle industry. This species of red macroalgae has been shown to cut ruminant methane emissions by over 80%. At Symbrosia I create novel cultivation and propagation strategies for the commercial production of this species.
