      Dissertation Project Research Student

      "Optimization of an Engineered Enzyme for Hybridization-Proximity Labelling"This project, which resulted in a written thesis and oral presentation, represented my Extended Research Project in Molecular Science as part of my BSc Biochemistry degree and received a First Class grade. The project aimed at optimizing HyPro labelling technology, using restriction enzyme cloning and site directed mutagenesis to genetically modify enzymes and was supervised by Professor Eugene Makeyev and Dr Karen Yap of the Centre for Developmental Neurobiology, King's College London.       Summer Internship

      Eight weeks internship funded by the Faculty of Life Science and Medicine, King’s College London, supervised by Professor Panicos Shangaris and Dr. Joanna Jacków. During the placement, I was involved in the Jacków lab research on Gene Editing for Sickle Cell Disease (SCD), learning useful techniques on CRISPR-Cas9 and Base Editing protocol optimization and in vitro testing. I was responsible for the writing of a review paper analysing different Gene Editing approaches to treat SCD, currently being finalised for publication. Show less

      I am conducting a bioinformatics analysis to identify gene expression markers indicative of positive chemotherapy response in patients with oesophageal adenocarcinoma, focusing on single-cell level data.
