      Private Tutor

      • Teaches physics and mathematics up to A-level and chemistry to GCSE on a weekly basis.• Over 300 hours taught. • 5-star reviews and a proven track record in improving grades.

    • The Ogden Trust

      Jun 2021 - Jul 2021
      Teach Physics Intern

Teaching internship at a comprehensive secondary school (and sixth form). • Many hours in classes, attending weekly briefings, assisting in marking mock exam scripts. • Prepared and delivered sections of lessons and a presentation on university life and applications. • Wrote a report on my observations, requiring reflective discussion of my experiences.

    • The University of Manchester

      Jul 2021 - Sept 2021
      Summer Research Intern (SEI)

As part of the Learning Through Research strand of the Student Experience Internship programme, worked on the conceptual development of an energy filter for an atomic oxygen beam, under the supervision of Dr Vitor Oiko. • Conducted a literature review on existing beam choppers and velocity selectors.• Developed and conducted simulations of different filter geometries/design concepts, and analysed the results.• Presented the results in a presentation and report.

    • Imperial College London

      Jun 2022 - Sept 2022
      UROP Summer Research Intern

Conducted a study in the LHCb/HEP group, comparing sensitivity to the KKeμ mode of the rare decay, BS0->KKττ, to the KKμμ mode, currently being researched in studies into lepton universality violation and other tensions with the standard model, to determine the prospects for measurement with Run 3 data. Supervised by Dr Mitesh Patel.• Use of supervised machine learning, training, designing and selecting discriminating features and optimising BDT's (boosted decision tree classifiers) to separate the signal from the various backgrounds. • Conducted error analysis, compared and presented the results. • Use of Python programming, data analysis, running the code in a Linux/CentOS/command line environment through SSH, and handling of large datasets (i.e. some over 2 million data points and over 1500 columns/features).
