      My Higher National Diploma has been a self funded course whilst still working full time hours at SACO Monday to Thursday. This proved a very difficult year with a massive amount of study time and commitment outside of my working hours.       SACO, founded in 1985, is a leading designer and manufacturer of aluminium caps and shrouds for the cosmetic industry. It offers component design, in-house tooling, pressing, assembly and a unique anodising service, which guarantees the highest quality to the customer, as it is a one-company process from design to delivery.At SACO, I work with a massive variety of electrical works. From general distribution, press machinery, assembly machinery, welding rooms, tool room machinery or warehousing vehicles to a large scale anodising plant running thousands of parts per hour. Working on all these machines as well as the factory distribution and offices has given me a good in depth knowledge to start my career and a good insight of health and safety whilst working in hazardous environments, dealing with chemical transfers and heavy industrial machinery on a daily basis. Within SACO I cover three factories all within Burnley.Site one (Progress Works): consists of a well sized warehouse, assembly department, press shop, maintenance department, electrical department, design office, toolmaking department and a quality department.Site two (New Hall Works): Consists of a warehouse, quality department, anodising plant, sampling department, welding department and sales officesSite three (Widow Hill): Is our most recent site which, at the moment, is only a holding warehouse and offices whilst plans are to be made for expansion.
