  Research-based degree.Chose the thesis option.Fulfilled requirements on comprehensive exams upon entry.Focused on number theory and algebraic geometry.Did a research project on a functorial approach to class field theory for algebraic curves, which lies at the intersection of number theory and algebraic geometry. Part of the project(explicit multiplication of generalized Jacobian) has cryptographic applications.
