  I am a freelance artist by choice. It is a hobby and a great part of my life. I work with wheel thrown ceramics, printing, painting etc. I began working with art when I was a child using the sprinkles and I poured them in my eyes and had to have them removed. I loved the smell of the clay when big blocks of it were in the bucket and I could put my fingers into the oozing mud and build something with it. As a teenager, I made incense sticks and sold them. I also worked on the wheel because my neighbor was a potter, she would bring us to the Berkeley studio. Later I studied with Beatrice Wood at Ojai Ca. She is a well known ceramic potter and was a teacher at Happy Valley School at the time. I also studied ceramics at Mendocino High School, which has been taught at the Mendocino Art Center.I Was enrolled in College Classes and fell in love with clay once again, although I struggled with it. Like any other thing, I forgot some of what I learned in High School.The College of the Redwoods just remodeled a new Studio. I also spent several winters at the Mendocino Art Center, practicing with clay. Show less
