Sensor battery failed if exposed to temperatures above 95C and mills ran up to 140C. Increased units operating temperature capability to 150C. Sensor also had over 80% physical failures. R&D new housing materials and assembly procedures to increase physical reliability to real world industrial levels of ruggedized operation.> Complete debug and redesign of $13 million fleet of large newly designed IOT integrated mobile diesel fueling trucks (for refueling heavy construction equipment insitu at construction worksites) for an international trucking company. Debugged, ruggedized and re-engineered electronic systems, truck diesel delivery electrical systems, Diesel Exhaust Fluid delivery systems and hydraulic pumping systems with the three different truck suppliers then implemented the redesigned systems for each series of truck designs. Re-engineered systems reduced equipment failure rate 98%.>Re-engineered power supplies and power distribution modules for IOT diesel fuel delivery equipment. Redesign successfully improved reliability in harsh environments.>Designed and implemented electronic automated tank fill “overflow” alarm for use when filling trucks.>One of 12 firms worldwide selected to work with International Business Wales as in-market partners. Key Results:>Working with various ministry staff to give a business perspective and input on innovative new procurement practices for BC businesses.>Oversaw the successful build and delivery of the 2nd annual #BCTECH summit – the largest technology conference in Western Canada. The Summit showcased BC’s vibrant tech industry while building cross-sector opportunities for the participating business as they explored the ways tech has been fueling growth and innovation across all industries. The summit had over 5,500+ attendees and 200+ speakers.>Conceived the idea of, implementation strategy for and worked with the BCIC team to deliver the Regional Innovation Opportunities tour (and the subsequent BC Growth Opportunities tour). This novel concept moved actual business opportunities around the Province. Companies looking for innovations and innovators “pitched” to audience participants to provide what they needed both as an immediate business opportunity and as a possible 1st reference client for them in a new market. The tours were an overwhelming success with audience comments like “Never saw anything like it – real business opportunities were presented” and “I found the Regional Innovation Opportunities Tour to be an excellent forum for collaboration between companies that may not otherwise happen. It also gave companies exposure throughout the Province. Well done.“ 99 % of respondents rated the Tour as “Excellent” or ”Good”. >Launched a new Intellectual Property program education and outreach that looks at IP "strategy" i.e. what IP you should be protecting (getting patents or keeping trade secrets) based on projected markets and projects in development.
