Hollis eye institute surgery center and satellite offices
Jan 1994 - Jan 1999Director of people operations►Family owned- largest Ophthalmic/multi-use Level 2 surgery center and Clinic in the Southeast►6 surgical suites; 10 suites with lasers and major equipments; and 25 patient offices plus 6 satellite offices. ►Recruited other ophthalmic specialists, plastic surgeons, dermatologists, and other specialists in order to maintain state-of-the-art equipment.►Along with correcting the business practices that increased collections, and changing exam procedures, I narrowed down the vendors for the best prices and service.►Collections increased from 21% to 79% in 6 months; revenues continuously doubled and a full-service office with leased and purchased capital equipment was utilized by several practitioners who were tapping into an unserved pool of patients, each specialist was very profitable. ►I had already been working in the eyecare industry (devices and surgical lenses), pharmaceuticals, and hospital sales for a number of years but this allowed me to a full-scale view of the industry, many hours inside of the operating rooms of several specialties and working with capital and disposable equipment.
