      We the people competitor

We The People is both an academic and extracurricular activity where my team and I studied the structure and function of the United States government. We competed in a District Competition where we presented one of three prepared speeches on a given question and answered follow-up questions regarding our speech. Due to our success, we moved to the State Competition and repeated the process with harder questions and more competition. Ultimately, We The People taught me how to deeply analyze concepts and ideas, write detailed and efficient speeches, work in a team of diverse backgrounds and opinions, and present our written pieces eloquently and smoothly.
