      Taught business and sustainability to 200+ university students while supporting the development of a local ecotourism logistics operation providing work training and revenue for at-risk youth, in part by assisting to secure funding from USAID. Served as President of the Volunteer Advisory Committee to gather input from 100+ person volunteer cohort, based at mostly remote field stations, to make recommendations for administration investments of new development projects.

      Led siting and procurement for field training station of US State Department’s “Youth Exchange Study” program, keeping 40 students and assets safe during collapse of Kyrgyzstan’s government; initiated and managed new logistics initiatives that generated material cost and risk reductions.

      Led BSR’s climate change program, which became one of two focus areas of the 270-company, $20 Million global nonprofit organization’s member services, research, and consulting initiatives. Started and managed a wide range of initiatives for corporate engagement on transportation climate action including Future of Fuels which encouraged fleet operators to ratchet climate commitments, numerous value chain (“Scope 3”) projects, and efforts to educate business on short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs). a.k.a. "super-pollutants.” Founded the educational corporate Climate Science Initiative. Led member initiatives to provide a critical business voice in support of the Paris Agreement, encourage ambitious climate goal-setting, and make sense of climate change adaptation. Managed pioneering energy sustainability initiatives including Future of Internet Power, the first tech industry collaboration on renewables procurement which became part of the Renewable Energy Buyer’s Alliance, and development of the Solar Energy Industry Association's supply chain code of conduct. Launched and led "Decarbonizing the Supply Chain" initiative for the 50-company Electronics Industry Citizenship Association, which has catalyzed 8+ years of ongoing work to reduce GHG emissions in electronics manufacturing in China.       Launched and led several industry campaigns to support and secure landmark climate statutory legislation and investment in California including codification of the Low Carbon Fuel Standard beyond 2020 (SB 398), statutory direction to create a comprehensive GHG strategy for trucks/buses (SB 44), appropriation of $1.4 Billion in funding for zero-emissions vehicles across modes, and a first-of-a-kind utility investment in bus/truck electrification totaling $700M+ combined with cutting-edge rate design. Led and supported numerous influential rulemakings through technical and coalition activities under California Air Resources Board, California Energy Commission, and California Public Utilities Comission. Launched and led several industry coalitions representing electric and fuel cell trucks and buses, including the Commercial EV Working Group, Electric Fleet Alliance, and CA Zero Emission Bus Coalition.       Appointed by Mayor Libby Schaaf to advise on the development of Oakland’s 2030 Equitable Climate Action Plan (ECAP) which commits Oakland to reducing GHG emissions 56% from 2005 to 2030. Helped to create a focus on a comprehensive transportation strategy and establishing a multimodal Zero-Emission Vehicle Action Plan.

      Founding Director, Innovative Mobility

      Founded CALSTART’s Innovative Mobility program to bring public-oriented mobility solutions for overcoming car dependence to the table of transportation technology. Oversaw CALSTART’s work starting and administering the pioneering Clean Mobility Options Voucher Pilot Program, an initiative managed under the California Air Resources Board and California Energy Commission, which has made $55 Mlillion in equity-based grants for bike, electric microtransit, and other shared mobility projects to about 50 communities statewide. Created the Innovative Mobility Working Group to support a locally-grounded, national-scale movement for multiumodal innovation and technology diffusion. Show less

      Serve as one of nine at-large Councilmembers to help a city of 105,000 residents and a $500+ Million annual budget already doing great things achieve even more. Focused on making the city work better in particular around transportation, housing, inclusion, and climate action. Ran for City Council on a platform of climate action, safe streets, and transportation/housing options. Won the seat my first time running for office. Gained insights into how advocates can jump into the world of local elections and succeed. Appointed by City Council to advise on community transportation matters. Helped establish the Core Arterial Network expanding Boulder’s protected bikeway network, initiate a new program of e-bike incentives, get parking reform moving, and elevate the priorities of public transit and integration of transportation, land use, and climate action.

      Founded and now run Moreworks, a resource to help unlock climate action. Moreworks has helped the Clean Mobility Options program improve high-touch assistance to a diversity of communities including tribes in need, making process improvements in reflection of a first-ever round of funding full of lessons, and then award funding to seventeen mobility projects plus another twelve community transportation needs assessments.
