      Owner / Designer / Fabricator

Drawing on my experience in design, computer-aided design, photography, web site development, architecture, construction, innovation, and fabrication. My primary focus is designing in 3-dimensional computer-generated models and fabricating with wood (primarily), or other materials as needed and available. Projects have included small construction projects to enhance or repair structures; furniture, such as a unique custom-designed bed frame utilizing very little hardware and a specially designed interlocking frame which breaks down to store in a very small space; solid oak croquet set with hand-turned balls with copper inlays, mallets trimmed with leather lace, and leather-wrapped mallet handles for a solid grip; a rocking horse that breaks down to store in a small space, utilizing specially-designed interlocking joints similar to the bed frame; and a wood-framed roof added to a modular home to cover a large wood deck and to add character to the entire structure, making it look more like a “stick-built” home. Projects begin with a custom design, drawn in 3-dimensions utilizing Google Sketchup software. The model provides an accurate view of the project from all angles, which makes it possible to work out every detail of the design with the client before construction begins. The model is then used to produce an accurate cost estimate and finally construction documents from which to complete construction. As projects are designed and built, they are photographed and added to ClickRick.net. In some cases, the models are animated to help communicate their construction, assembly, and use. Show less
