  Uiowa Baja is a student organization and I currently serve as vice president. As an organization we design, build and race our Baja cars against other universities on an inter-national level. We independently design the frame in Solidworks and Creo, layer sheets of carbon Kevlar fiber for the body panels and build all other aspects of the vehicle except for the shocks, clutch and the 10 hp Briggs & Stratton engine given to every club. We utilize tools including a lathe, mill, mig and tig welders, plasma cutters and many other machine tools. As vice president I manage and oversee all design and manufacturing as well as mentor new members in the use of the many tools and machines in our shop. Show less

  Working at the National Advanced Driving Simulator, part of my employment I have worked to develop driving scenarios and produce reports for companies including Toyota, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and others in the transportation industry. I have been involved in every aspect of the experimental process from meeting with industry leaders to creating a plan, developing the scenario, working with research participants and compiling/analyzing data collected.
