This course was an experience that each undergraduate cohort in the theater department went through together. It was highly experiential, offering an opportunity for reflection on the other aspects of their learning as well as a deepening of relationships among the students. The program included weekly experiential expressive arts workshops in Spanish, focusing on themes or questions relevant to their other course work. The course successfully supported students in understanding themselves and their peers more deeply, developing compassion, introspection, and self-awareness, and strengthening their abilities as actors. In this role, I was responsible for collaborating with a co-instructor to plan and facilitate courses. We were also responsible for grading and mentoring students. As a North American, this role also challenged me to communicate effectively in Spanish, navigate cultural differences, and work within an academic system I was not familiar with. May 2023 - Sept 2023
Director of Strategic Partnerships for Professional / Continuing Education

In the college's new school of continuing education, I worked on a small team that functioned much like a startup. As the Director of Partnerships, I led the strategy and implementation of certificate program development in collaboration with private and public sector partners. In this role, I was responsible for curriculum design, communication strategy, and designing new certificate programs.Unfortunately, the role was much different than the one agreed upon. While I was able to accomplish a lot in a short period, it was clear to me that the program was not set up for success, and I made the difficult decision to resign. In other contexts, I would have stayed longer after realizing the position was not a long-term fit. But because this specific role centered around relationships and required leveraging my personal contacts, I felt a responsibility to my network and the college to immediately disclose that this role was not a fit.
