      Function as the recognized technical authority on correctional psychology issues for Northeast Region of the Federal Bureau of Prisons on matters relating to the practice of psychology in the BOP. Serve as the technical advisor to the Regional Director, Deputy Regional Director, other Regional Administrators, and institution Wardens and their staff on matters related to Psychology Services departments and their role in BOP institutions. Assists in the development of clinical protocols for the assessment and treatment of mental health and behavioral disorders in the inmate population. Disseminate and implement agency standards pertinent to suicide risk management, the care of mentally ill inmates, the oversight of correctional treatment programs, and other critical areas relevant to institution Psychology Services operations. Responsible for implementation of Psychology Services policy, coordination of operations to meet mental health and programming requirements for the inmate population, and provision of ancillary employee assistance and support services for regional office staff as stipulated in policy. Responsible for providing new and acting Chief Psychologists orientation and training, providing expertise to enable them to effectively develop in their profession and to ensure that the highest level of clinical services are provided by the agency. Also offer technical expertise on matters within Psychology Services, to provide clinical case consultations, to consult on staffing issues, and to support the professional development of psychology staff. Other contacts may occur for the purpose of providing policy guidance, advice and/or Continuing Education training. Serve as the Regional Crisis Support Team Coordinator and Regional Employee Assistance Program Coordinator.
