Ran queries on the National Crimes Information Center database, took fingerprints of applicants and arrestees, collected evidence at crime scenes, accompanied uniformed officers and detectives on patrols, emergency calls and surveillance details.

  Served as a police officer protecting the personnel, aircraft, facilities and installation of Selfridge Air National Guard Base. Conducted a comprehensive traffic control device survey of the installation to bring it into compliance with the Michigan Uniform Traffic Control Devices Manual. Conducted armed, uniformed and plain-clothes patrols of the installation. Responded to incidents and emergency calls, conducted investigations and searches, and effected arrests.

  Served as a commissioned Military Police Officer at various assignments, both on active duty (four years) and in the US Army Reserves. Positions included Traffic Officer, Projects Officer, Evidence Custodian, Provost Marshal Operations Officer, MP Platoon Leader, Executive Officer, MP Company Commander, Deputy Provost Marshal, and Deputy S-4. Planned and implemented a 100% physical inventory of all accountable property on an Army installation, supervising a team of fifteen military and civilian personnel to enable reconciliation of installation property books that had been unreconciled for years. Resulted in the recovery of approximately $7 million worth of unaccounted property.

Also served as the DoD Executive Agent for Diplomatic Security, representing the security interests of all Department of Defense organizations under the security cognizance of a U.S. chief of mission abroad to the Department of State Bureau of Diplomatic Security.
