My group and I were called upon to use vibration analysis, infrared, airborne ultrasound, oil analysis and PdMA motor health evaluation throughout the corporation. These technologies were used in day to day evaluations as well as used to aid troubleshooting and inspections/investigations. My team and I also taught classes in these technologies. Traveled to many Abbott sites within the states as well as internationally. Performed roofing evaluations to ensure our roofing systems were performing to the highest standards. This was done with the naked eye as well as in the evening using high end FLIR infrared equipment. Worked as site engineer for the installation of many roof installations. I also was called upon to use infrared in many other ways throughout Abbott, from mechanical to medical research. Responsible for Global mechanical, validation and HVAC commissioning of new lines, buildings, and facilities. I was the supervisor for a very select, extreamly tallented group of mechanical, electrical, HVAC and validation commissioning technicians. They had a very wide range of technical expertise and togather could startup and commission anything put in front of them. While I was with this group, I was pulled off to work on many other long term, difficult projects. Group leader (with a personal passion for TIG welding) responcible for the maintenance of a very large manufacturing, R&D, and support operatons site. I led my team to change the opinion of our customers from not wanting the night crew to work on their equipment, to being the preferred group to maintain their equipment. We would be called in to work on our days off while the day crew would be there with nothing to do.
